1. Advertising and behavioral tracking
Metlio does not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site behavioral advertising, ad pixels, or targeted-advertising profiles on the public Metlio website or current private pilot.
2. Analytics
Metlio does not currently intentionally deploy a dedicated behavioral analytics product on the public website or pilot. Hosting and infrastructure providers may still process routine technical request information such as IP address, browser/device details, timestamps, and security logs as part of delivering and protecting the service.
3. Local storage
The pilot uses browser local storage to keep demo profile information, trackers, logs, saved foods/feeds, formula recipes, lab/test entries, and settings on the user’s device/browser.
4. Camera access
Barcode scanning may request camera permission. Permission is controlled through the browser/device. Camera access is used to detect a barcode; Metlio does not intentionally upload the live camera image to its own server in the current pilot.
5. Third-party requests
The barcode scanner currently loads a third-party scanning library from a content delivery network, and barcode product lookups may send the barcode number to Open Food Facts. Those third parties may receive ordinary network information according to their own practices.
6. Future changes
If Metlio adds analytics, advertising technologies, production crash reporting, or other tracking technologies, this notice and the Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those technologies are introduced.
